Grooms Suit

I imagine Mr B to be wearing something similar on our wedding day...

I love the idea of a lightweight breathable suit minus the tie! Casual and elegant at the same time. I managed to find an online tailor to make Mr B's beige cotton chino suit to spec. Thet sent us some fabric samples just to be sure of the colour as I don't trust computer images - they can be so wrong! Anyway Mr B ended up liking the lightest Beige (top left) which I agree!

I hope I didn't mess up his measurements, but for the price we're paying for this suit, I'm willing to take the risk!

Despite the fact that we're getting hitched in Thailand (the land of the tailor) I would hate to leave Mr B's outfit until the last minute when we get there, only to find the tailors don't have the right farbics to make such an outfit! It would definately put a damper on things. Anyway I've sent off our order and am excited to see the end result!

Invitations

The invitations finally arrived and have all been posted off. Its official! Yay

Birthday surprise

So on Monday, it was my birthday! The last year (well less than a year now) being a 'single lady' as Mr B's brother pointed out.

I awoke in the morning to Mr B. making me a coffee. This was the greatest surprise of all, as those who don't know him, should know that he is without doubt NOT a morning person! He's near impossible to get up before 9am at the best of times! He didn't have work that day so the fact he got up for me made me so happy.

I got to work to find my desk decorated beautifully by my coworkers...

It may have been a Monday, but it felt pretty good!

Anyway, Mr B, being the fabulous and sweet guy he is, spent the day running around, getting ingredients for a special, American style cupcake recipe to surprise me with some birthday cupcakes...!!

Lucky me....

Apologies for the rather dull photos, these bad boys were so delish! Marshmellow flavoured cupcakes injected with caramel on the inside. Heavently!

I must say, I was very spoiled this year. I got a couple of amazing gifts.

Firslty, the Kookai leather cropped jacket I've been eyeing for for some time
It has dreamy, butter soft leather & is much more of a feminine looking jacket vs. the leather biker jackets currently out this season!

I also scored an awesome pair of Urbanears Plattan headphones in Grape colour
Pretty spectacular sound these puppies carry. It doesn't hurt that they look cool too. So excited to pull them out on my walk to work tomorrow!! Woohoo

Finally, Mr B got me some beautiful pink roses, just to seal the deal. Boy oh boy was I spiled rotten!!!!!
Here I am wearing my new jacket, holding my gorgeous flowers. Mr B, I salute you for making me feel so special.

Party makeup

Un-wedding related post alert!

Last night we went to a friend's 30th birthday party. The theme was Black Tie with a Twist. I decided to try rainbow eyeshadow for something different. I didn't exactly have rainbow palette at hand, but I did have something as close to as possible from Revlon...
Being a total bright coloured eyeshadow novice, I tried my best to apply and blend. Here was the end result. Not quite rainbow but multi coloured nontheless & an easy twist on an otherwise formal dress..

Fingerprinting

So we decided to order a personalised fingerprinted ring via Etsy for Mr. B.
He chose the design and seemed quite please with it. After some very quick communication with the seller, our kit was sent to us for initial prints.

This is what was waiting for me when I got home from work on Thursday

I opened up the package to find a seemingly complex pack of things alongside full instructions

The fingerprint kit pack came with a ring sizing set, some marketing material (post cards and business cards), instructions, plastic tongs and 4 blank fingerprint strips. These looked like flat, black wax strips stuck onto a strip of foam.

I converted the measurements to Celcius and ML for accurate results as the instructions came to me in Farenheit and Ounces. I had to use boiling water and wait until the temperature was just right to get the strips to melt optimally. Luckily we had a roasting thermometer on hand!

While I was waiting for the kettle to boil, I was instructed to soak my hand in warm water for 8 minutes so that my prints were more pronounced. I took them out after 4 minutes as they were starting to get too pruney!

I was given 4 strips to make prints from and was told they would use the best looking print for the ring. Takes a bit of pressure off doesn't it?!

and viola! one of my fingerprints drying.

I'm going to send the kit back tomorrow, ready for production. That blue thing you see stuck onto the back of the prints is ring sizer. Excited to see the end result!

Mother Nature Fail

So earlier tonight we heard the news that there has been an 8.2 magnitude earthquake in Indonesia...and that a Tsunami is headed for the surrounds of the Indian Ocean. Yup, that means Thailand too!

After seeing this picture of an evacuation in Krabi, I'm getting scared!

I know I know, first world problems. Here I am, worried that our wedding destination might be impacted by this potential Tsunami, but who knows what could happen?

I'm going to stay tuned for updates. I've just send Lisa the wedding planner at Rayavadee an email to see if she is okay. Hopefully this is nothing to worry about?!
